
Dr. Kevin W. Brown is an educator, sociologist, author, national speaker, and community advocate dedicated to improving the lives of children, families, and underserved communities through education, behavioral health awareness, and social advocacy.
Dr. Brown is the author of Shadows of Power: One Gender Rose. One Lost Its Way. A Zero-Sum Reckoning for Us All, a thought-provoking work examining the modern challenges facing boys, men, education, family systems, and American society. His work explores the intersections of gender, trauma, education, identity, and social change with a focus on building healthier outcomes for future generations.
A two-time graduate of Grambling State University, Dr. Brown earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has devoted his professional career to educational leadership and youth development. Over the years, he has served in numerous leadership roles including K–12 teacher, 6th–12th grade principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent of Schools. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Sociology in Illinois, where he continues mentoring students and contributing to conversations surrounding education, equity, mental health, and societal change.
Beyond education, Dr. Brown is also a jazz saxophonist whose passion for music reflects his commitment to creativity, culture, and community connection. As a husband and father of two young men, his personal experiences deeply inform his advocacy work and his dedication to supporting children and families navigating today’s complex social and educational challenges.
Dr. Brown is a nationally recognized speaker who conducts workshops and presentations on trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), behavioral health, educational equity, and the growing challenges facing boys and men in the modern era. Through his leadership and vision, he remains committed to creating systems of support that empower children, strengthen families, and build healthier communities.

Growing Minds ABA Therapy Center was founded to address the growing need for equitable autism services within underserved communities. We are committed to ensuring that every child receives compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care regardless of socioeconomic status.
